Shotly is an all-in-one pre-production platform built specifically for filmmakers, video editors, and creative teams. Everything from your script to your call sheet, in one place, at shotly.io.
If you've searched for Shotly, here's exactly what it is. Shotly.io is a pre-production software platform built for filmmakers, video editors, students, and production teams who are tired of juggling fifteen different tools to manage a single project.
Shotly lives at shotly.io. It was built by a filmmaker, for filmmakers, and launched in June 2026. The idea behind it is simple: everything you need to go from idea to shoot-ready should exist in one place, without the bloat, without the enterprise pricing, and without tools that were clearly designed by people who've never been on a set.
What does Shotly actually do?
Shotly is a full pre-production suite. That means it covers every stage of the process before your camera rolls. Here's what's inside:
Script Writing
Storyboards
MoodSpace
AI Creative Assistant
Breakdowns
Shot List
Scheduling
Call Sheets
Task Board
Contacts
Locations
Equipment
Asset Vault
Budgeting
Team Chat
Agency Dashboard
And More….
That's 16 features, all inside one platform. No more writing your script in Google Docs, building your shot list in a spreadsheet, managing your schedule in Notion, and sending call sheets as PDF attachments. Shotly replaces all of it.
Who is Shotly for?
Shotly is built for anyone in the filmmaking and video production world who takes pre-production seriously. That includes indie filmmakers working solo, student filmmakers on their first short, wedding and commercial videographers managing multiple productions, and production companies running bigger creative teams.
There's a free plan to get started, paid plans from £15 a month for individuals scaling up, and a Studio tier for teams. If you're a filmmaker at any level, there's a plan that fits where you are right now.
I built Shotly because I kept hitting the same wall. Great idea, chaotic pre-production, avoidable problems on set. There had to be a better way to do this. So I built it.

Jonathan Germanos
Founder, Shotly
Shotly was built by Jonathan Germanos, a filmmaker, videographer and video editor with credits at Warner Bros and Netflix. After years of working across commercial, branded, and documentary productions, he kept running into the same problem: pre-production was a mess of disconnected tools that created unnecessary stress before a single frame was shot.
So he built the fix. Seven months of solo development later, Shotly launched in June 2026 and is ready for filmmakers at every level.
The platform is powered by an AI production assistant, designed to help with everything from script notes to shot list generation, without replacing the creative decisions that only a filmmaker can make.
How is Shotly different from StudioBinder or other tools?
StudioBinder is a solid product but it's built for established production companies with teams and budgets to match. Shotly is built for the filmmaker first, whether you're on your first short film or running a production company doing ten projects a year.
The interface is clean. The pricing is honest. And every feature inside it was designed by someone who actually uses it on real productions. That's the difference.
